A Snake Swallows A Man In Indonesia

Chilling! This was the moment when people from a small village in Salubiro, located on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, discovered the body of a man inside a huge python.

According to The New York Times, the man found inside the reptile had been reported missing on Monday night, so a group went looking for him on Tuesday morning.

Before encountering the snake, the inhabitants found tools and a boot belonging to Akbar, the missing man. These clues hinted at a possible animal attack, but what they never expected was to discover the disturbing scene they were about to witness.

Apparently choked and with very little mobility, the 7-meter snake lay near the spot where Akbar's boot was found.

"When we opened his stomach, the first thing we saw was his boot and his legs very close to the neck [of the snake]," revealed a spokesman for the small town where the tragedy occurred.

"Apparently, he was attacked from behind because wounds were found in his back," the spokesperson added in statements to the Associated Press.

The terrifying images have been shared through a disturbing video posted on YouTube, where the inhabitants can be seen cutting the snake and discovering inside the body of the victim.

According to the Times, these wild animal attacks are not unusual on Sulawesi Island. Peasant encounters with tigers, elephants and snakes are often reported in this jungle area of Indonesia.
