Just over six months have passed since Texan singer Selena Gomez announced her temporary retirement from the stage.

The 24-year-old pop star canceled her world tour last September to focus on the emotional and health issues her long-suffering lupus has caused her.

According to the 13th Reasons Why (Netflix) series presentation on Wednesday, his voluntary retirement was "really difficult", much more than we imagined.

"I was actually going through a really difficult time when this production started," Selena said in statements collected by The Hollywood Reporter. "I was gone for 90 days and, in fact, I met loads of guys on that site whose experiences and problems we are talking about [in the series]."

The show is just about a high school student named Clay who takes her own life and the dramatic reasons that led her to do so. Gomez is a co-producer on the project, which is based on a Jay Asher novel.

Selena attributed part of her problems to her busy childhood as a Disney star. "[There were] adults who dared to tell me how I should live my life," he explained. “It was very confusing for me (…) I had no idea that this was going to be the case. She hit me in a very important part and I think that is why it is very important that [today's kids] see it.”

Your other complaint? Social networks.

"I can't stand what they're seeing," he said. "I can't bear what they think reality is." Curiously, as soon as she returned from her retirement, she posed half-naked in networks to the great stir of her followers. … So …?
