While Salma Hayek Pinault was not one of the superstars who marched against President Donald Trump last Saturday, she remains one of the most active voices in Hollywood against the American billionaire.
The 50-year-old beautiful Mexican actress took advantage of the presentation of her most recent film at the Sundance festival, which is taking place these days in Park City, Utah, to talk about the new president of the United States.
"I think the march was a form of communication," Salma told the audience. "And I hope that President Trump - Oh God! It is the first time that I say it! - you will be able to see it for what it really was”.
The Frida star added: “[Trump] talks that he will be the President of America. And I think the beauty of the march was America saying 'We are America'. So it was a nice reminder that most people didn't vote for Mr. Trump. It was a peaceful reminder, like saying 'Hey! We are also America! '”
Incidentally, the film that Salma was promoting is titled Beatriz at Dinner and it is accompanied by John Lithgow, Jay Duplass, Connie Britton, and Chloe Sevigny.
Under the direction of the Spanish Miguel Arteta, the film tells a story of a Mexican masseuse (Hayek) who unexpectedly stays for dinner at the home of one of her wealthy clients. The protagonist, by the way, is an immigrant.
