A woman from the New York neighborhood of the Bronx who went to a spiritualist to put a curse on an ex-boyfriend must now be wondering if in the end it was her misfortune that she wanted.
Eliana Bauta, a city social services official, went to a black arts specialist to harm a former partner with whom, apparently, things did not end well, according to the Daily News and the federal prosecutor's office. The problem? She paid for the service with public funds, according to the U. S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
The second problem? That they discovered her. The New York City Human Resources Administration worker was arrested by authorities after they discovered that the officer had allegedly embezzled a fire - and they really needed the money, they were waiting for it because Bauta had diverted it to her accomplices. Two of them, Geraldine Pérez, 60, and Eric Gonzales, 26, have also been charged after confessing to investigators, the documents in the case say.
For now, it is unknown how much it cost Bauta to put up the curse he allegedly paid for with public money, but perhaps he should consider dumping himself.
