Julissa Arce, a Mexican immigrant and author whose incredible story of perseverance became famous a few years ago, considered that with Donald Trump's new mandate, it is time for immigrants to take action.
Many people worry that Donald Trump was elected president, as I am. But now is when the work begins,”Arce told People en Español.
Rather than worry, he noted, Latinos should stay informed about new policies being implemented.
“Being silent and taking action are two of the most powerful things we can do. If we just remain sedentary and do nothing, it is just as damaging to [the action] of the people who are against us Latinos,”he said. "Standing still is not an option."
To achieve change, Julissa urged lobbying Congress for pro-immigrant policies.
Trump will take over comp president this Friday.
