According to the New York Times, the author of the shooting was identified by Aldo Fasci, spokesman for the state of Nuevo León, as Federico Guevara Elizondo.
For his part, Jaime Rodríguez, governor of that entity, instructed the state prosecutor to investigate who leaked the video that captured the shooting, calling the action "a perverse and morbid act, which must be punished."
The teacher, Cecilia Cristina Solís, 24, and two students, 15 and 14, respectively, were seriously injured in the shooting and remain in critical condition.
"These types of events leave us worried and anxious," said the governor at a press conference. "What are we doing as parents? Why are our families finding themselves in this type of situation?
Now, authorities are seeking to determine how the young man obtained the weapon he used in the shooting.
