The freezing temperatures in Portland, Oregon could have claimed the life of a newborn.
According to Willamette Weekly, last week a woman who was pushing a shopping cart approached an unidentified subject who was at a bus stop. After unbuttoning his coat, he showed her that she was carrying a newborn baby. The man immediately called 911.
Rescuers who came to his aid reported that the baby was unconscious and "freezing." But when he was transferred to the hospital, the doctors were unable to save his life.
Investigators assigned to the case only got confusing responses from the alleged mother, who told them among other things that she had become pregnant "by the miracle of the immaculate conception."
The exact cause of the baby's death is also unknown. While the hospital doctors who treated him assure that he came into his hands alive, the forensic doctor indicated in his report that he died at birth.
