The arrest of 17 people suspected of participating in the spectacular assault that Kim Kardashian suffered last October in Paris continues to yield surprising results.

Now it has been learned that Kardashian's driver and his brother are among those arrested and that they are both connected to the diamond trade in Europe.

According to the French daily Le Monde, Michael Madar, 40, and Gary Madar, 27, were arrested in the Parisian suburb of Rainey and are "involved in the diamond trade and believed to have been in charge of handling the stolen jewelery".

One of those “jewels” is a fabulous ring valued in the center a spectacular 20-carat diamond engraved with the word “Adidas”, at the request of Kanye West, Kardashian's husband, who was the one who gave him the garment shortly before the robbery.

"Their houses were searched from top to bottom, as was a jewelry store in Paris that is linked to them," said a source in the aforementioned French newspaper. "The jewels have not been found, but the pair of runway brothers are expected to find them in the coming days."

It seems that the Nadar brothers have recently made very frequent visits to the Belgian city of Antwerp, which is considered the world capital of the diamond trade. "These men know the industry inside and out and may know exactly where the ring went."

Furthermore, a source confirmed E! News that Nadar was the last to move Kardashian before the robbery on October 3 and that he apparently knew where the reality star would be headed that night, had he not been mugged.

Authorities now have 96 hours to raise formal charges against the detainees or release them, and are now focused on finding out if the driver passed information on to the rest of the criminal gang.

It was finally announced that one of those arrested is Pierre B, a 72-year-old man who is apparently the leader of the criminal gang that carried out the assault and who was apprehended in a luxurious mansion in Plascassier, a village in southern France.
