Mother Walks 30 Hours In The Snow To Rescue Her Family

New proof that a mother is capable of giving her life for her family has just been given by Karen Klein, who walked 26 miles under the snow in search of help for her family.

It all started on Thursday, December 22, when she was traveling, along with her husband Eric and their 10-year-old son, on a state highway that would take them from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. Unfortunately, the GPS diverted them along forest service roads and there, in the middle of a heavy snowfall, their vehicle got stuck in a ditch. To make matters worse, her mobile phone lost the signal.

When caught in the middle of the inhospitable, the couple made the decision that it was she, who has participated in some triathlons, who would seek help walking to the nearest highway.

The 46-year-old woman started walking but to her surprise, the highway she was looking for had been closed for the winter. So she decided to keep walking towards the park entrance. She ate pine tree branches from the park and tried to remain optimistic about the situation, even though in the last few miles she lost one of her shoes, having to walk about three miles without it.

According to CNN, "it took him nine hours to traverse those last few miles. He walked 3.04 meters, fell, rose again, and fell again."

Karen didn't stop until she found the guard's shack, which she entered after breaking a window. There she was rescued after six more hours.

Her rescue came thanks to the fact that her husband, seeing that a day had passed and she was not returning, left the shelter of her car and began to walk with her little son to a higher point in the park where your mobile phone had a signal..

Thanks to that decision, Mr. Klein found a signal for his phone and alerted the authorities, who rescued him with his son, while they began the intense search to find his wife. This happened on Saturday, December 24, 30 hours after his pilgrimage.

Mrs. Klein, who may possibly lose a few toes from the low temperatures to which she was exposed, says that what kept her walking despite the difficulties was not wanting her mother or son to bury her.
