Although Josh Katrick has just completed his eighth round of chemotherapy, he has not allowed his illness to become the center of his life. You still have time to think of others. So when he won a free pizza contest for a year, instead of keeping the prize, he decided to donate it.

The 36-year-old patient presented his award to a food bank. With a magnificent sense of humor, yesterday he explained his decision to the CNN news network: “You know the saying, 'When life gives you lemons you must make lemonade', well, then when life gives you pizza, you should give a piece”.

Katrick, who suffers from colon cancer, entered a Mario's Pizza contest in his neighborhood in the Northampton area, north of Philadelphia. The grand prize was two large pizzas and free soft drinks every month for the course of a year, and he won it.

Following their announcement to award their pizzas to a neighborhood food bank, the owners of the restaurant said they will double the prize, so that the winner will also get their prize.

"I thought someone would win, they would be excited, they would come in and take their pizzas, but a story like this beats the contest," said the son of the restaurant's owner, Giuseppe Aiello.
