After Camila Cabello attacked Fifth Harmony for the way they announced their departure, the members of the female music group issued a statement last Monday in which they claimed to feel "hurt and confused" at what happened.

“Dear fans, we know you are hurt and confused, we are too. We know you want answers and you deserve them because you are also part of this group. The last thing we want to do is get involved in a battle of accusations. But we love our Harmonizers very much and we want them to hear everything first hand, without it being edited or manipulated,”the statement read.

“In recent months we have not stopped trying to convince Camila to sit down and discuss with us the future of the group. We have spent the last year and a half trying to talk to her and her team to explain why we felt [the group] deserved at least one last album to be recorded. We tried to organize meetings that he refused to attend. We even got to go to group therapy together, but she didn't show up. We have tried to keep this group alive, with all five, and we want to make it clear that those efforts have not been mutual.”

Hours before Fifth Harmony published the statement on her official Instagram account, Cabello turned to her social networks to express that she was not only "surprised" by the band's statement, but also assured that her departure had been reported to the group.

"To say that I informed them that 'I was going to leave the group' through my representative is simply not true," wrote the artist of Cuban origin, who also took the opportunity to announce that she is going to launch her solo career in 2017.
