After announcing her departure from Fifth Harmony less than a month ago, Camila Cabello is now opening up about her experience as a band member in the famous girl-group.

As glamorous as it may sound to tour the world and have over 8 million Instagram followers, the Cuban-born singer revealed to Lena Dunham that there is a darkside to stardom including her personal experience of being sexualized.

Unfortunately, sex sells. There's definitely been times where there's stuff that I have not been comfortable with and I've had to put my foot down,”she revealed.

Cabello joined Fifth Harmony at the age of 15 and felt uncomfortable with those who tried to sexualize the band members. "I feel like it's been tricky because we've had to grow into ourselves while being in front of the world and while making songs that did have a lot of sexual undertones," she said.

However, she cleared up that it's okay to feel sexy by adding, “There's nothing wrong with sexuality. If you have that inside, it's just an expression of who you are. If you want to share that with people, that's amazing.”

The singer ended her interview with meaningful advice saying, “I think the thing that I would say to young women is, if you're not ready for it, put your foot down.”
