A music teacher, who had served a short prison sentence on pedophilia charges, was killed in a cathedral near Buenos Aires, Argentina. The musician and former prisoner was attacked in the temple by some relatives of his victims, one of whom used the trumpet that the attacked man played as a weapon.

In 2010, Marcelo Fabián Pécollo, 42, had been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing 5 children. However, in 2014 his sentence was reduced and he was released. A going away, he got a job playing in an orchestra knock a Small Orchestra of Morón.

Last October 30, the orchestra appeared in a small cathedral near Buenos Aires, where relatives of their victims arrived, ready to attack him. Some even dressed especially for this meeting, as they wore t-shirts that read "Not with the Chinese."

The newspaper El Clarín reported that the protesters entered the middle of the concert shouting "there is a pedophile and rapist in the church and he is playing in this orchestra. " Immediately, they distributed copies of newspaper articles where the musician's conviction had been published. Pécollo began to run, but his attackers caught up with him in the hallway and beat him so hard that he started vomiting blood.

"When I arrived," pastor Jorge Oesterhel told a local television station, "he was in a very, very bad state. I think they came to kill him. If there had not been people to defend him - and that he was hurt for doing so - they would have killed right here behind the altar."

The attack continued until the police arrived. The musician was immediately transferred to a hospital, where he arrived in a coma and remained so until he died last Thursday.

The Argentine authorities are investigating the crime and are trying to find the whereabouts of the alleged murder weapon because they have not yet found Pécollo's instrument.
