Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo seized his networks to offer a report on the health of his mother, Mrs. Dolores Aveiro, who suffered a stroke earlier this week.

The mother of the captain of the Juventus Club of Turin, 65 years old, had to be admitted urgently to the Doctor Nelio de Mendoça Hospital, on the island of Madeira and close to the town of Funchal where she resides.

"Thank you all for your messages and your support for my mom," said the 35-year-old Portuguese player through his networks. "He is currently stable and recovering in the hospital."

"I and all my family want to thank the medical team that is taking care of her," continued the proud father of four children. "We kindly ask that you give us privacy right now."

According to the Jornal da Maderia Aveiro, he was stable and conscious after undergoing a mechanical thrombectomy to drain the obstruction of the artery that prevented the correct circulation of blood to his brain.
