After ten years of working on this project, the Disney company confirms it is already in the process to produce the UltraViolet and Blue Demon series, which will be starred, precisely, by the Mexican fighter Blue Demon Jr. This was confirmed by Dan Carrillo Levy, one of the producers.
"Being Mexicans is in our DNA and we are proud that our first project revolves around Mexican wrestling," Carrillo Levy told the Mexican newspaper El Heraldo. “It will touch on topics that are known to the Latino community. We also want the children to feel identified, just as I saw the movies of Blue Demon Jr.'s dad.”
According to the producer, this broadcast aims to publicize the leading role that wrestling has in this country and its contributions at the international level. In addition, he will take advantage of the iconic legacy of the aforementioned fighter, who, in the plot, will help his niece Violet to become a superhero.
This program will be in accordance with the values of Disney and music will be a fundamental part of the project, just as the company is used to. Carrillo Levy emphasized that importance will be given to national identity and made it clear that Violet's character was thought this way from its conception, therefore, it does not obey the current trend of women's empowerment.
"[Topics on]" family, honor and heritage will be addressed, "he explained. "But above all what the mask means."
Blue Demon Jr. confirmed the project by releasing an image with some members of the production.
"Part of the great team at UltraViolet and Blue Demon for Disney," was the text Blue Demon used to accompany the snapshot.
The script is in charge of Dan Hernández and Benjamin Samit. At the moment, the release date and platform or channel where it will be broadcast are unknown.
