The Dukes of Cambridge begin the decade with an ambitious project, not only motivated by the good of the world, but also surely thinking about the planet that these young parents will leave their children, the princes George, Charlotte and Louis.

This week Prince William announced the creation of the Earthshot Awards, "the most prestigious award in the world in relation to the environment," according to their official Instagram account.

The future monarch of England, second in the line of succession after Prince Charles, recalled the serious danger that threatens the world in his first statement when announcing the awards:

Let's not forget the incredible civilization we have built, the life saving technology we have created, the fact that we have even managed to put a man on the moon. People can achieve great things and the next ten years present us with one of our greatest tests: a decade of change to repair planet earth.”

This billionaire award will be presented to those who offer the best ideas to solve the serious environmental problems that lie in wait for us, such as those caused by climate change and the plastic plague that we had so present in 2019.

At thirty-seven, Prince William set out to find the visionaries and inventors of the decade, with whom he hopes to find 50 infallible solutions by 2030.

It is a very premeditated project: the Duke of Cambridge consulted over 60 environmental organizations and experts in the field last year, with the noble desire to form a team of scientists, economists, activists, leaders and businessmen to help him study the best proposals for the award ceremony.

The first ceremony is scheduled to take place as early as 2021!
