He wanted to be a cashier, despite his passion for drawing and painting, but back in 2009 a manager at Sephora, the beauty shop where Héctor Espinal worked, saw his drawings and convinced him to try his luck in the world of makeup professionally. "I didn't know I had that talent," he admits. Then he decided to go to a casting to join the team of Fenty Beauty, the makeup brand created by Rihanna, and he won! Today she travels around the world representing the brand as Global Makeup Artist and has made up celebrities like Cardi B, Clarissa Molina or the top Joan Smalls.

Although he himself assures that his makeup style is universal and changing, for many his way of making the smokey eye is his hallmark.

"My favorite beauty product is undoubtedly mascara," he says. “For me, a beauty look is not complete without a mascara. You put it on and you look made up, wake up… I don't know what the magic is, but I love it”.

Another golden rule of the Dominican who recognizes that he is tremendously proud of his international career and the opportunities offered by him as an official make-up artist for Fenty Beauty, is that less is more. "A lot of them focus on putting on many eyes, a lot of lips … and I think that by [focusing on] just one detail, be it the eyes or the mouth, it looks good."
