The past few years have been very difficult for some of America's most popular chain stores. And is that due to low sales some have had to declare bankruptcy and others have been forced to fire dozens of employees and lower their operating costs. Stores such as Sears, Kmart, Forever 21 and Lord & Taylor, are some of the companies that have been affected by this new wave of cyber buyers, who prefer to shop online and not even look at stores. 2020 looks the same for other stores that had been saved from trouble. We recently learned that Macy's will close 19 of its stores and unfortunately now it will also be up to Bed Bath and Beyond to do the same. However, apparently not due to financial problems.

The chain of stores announced that it will be closing 40 of the establishments it has around the country and that it will do so in the first six months of the year. As a company representative told People magazine, "these stores do not meet customer expectations."

"We are continually trying to evolve to better serve our customers, whether they are visiting one of the more than 900 stores or one of the millions who shop on the webiste," said the representative. “We have just made a million dollar renovation to more than 150 stores and we are continuously investing in stores and on the digital platform to give our customers a better experience.

The affected stores are located in states such as California, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Florida and Pennsylvania, among others.

Call your local store before visiting to make sure it is not one of those affected.
