If you want to start the year on the right foot, nothing like resetting yourself and charging batteries with a body treatment at a spa, right? That has been thought by our Colombian fashion and beauty expert Kika Rocha, who this week in the Specials with Kika talks to us from the Zoetry Paraíso de la Bonita resort, in the Riviera Maya, from where she brings us a most relaxing water treatment.

This week's beauty ritual begins with Yanzu therapy, which consists of a relaxation protocol in the water that, according to the expert in this technique, Alberto Tardiu, manages to relax and “decontract the muscles”.

The treatment lasts about 50 minutes and is based on smooth movements, like a kind of water dance, and it is important that it is performed in salty water as it is rich in trace elements that have many benefits for health and skin.

After bathing in the pool, the treatment is completed with a Thalassotherapy ritual, which comes from the Greek word thalassos, is inspired by the sea and takes advantage of the benefits for the skin of the salty water, algae and mud typical of the ocean.

In fact, algae are widely used in commercial beauty products for their antioxidant properties and high mineral value, and mud for its ability to deeply hydrate and renew the skin.

"[In addition to the salty water] The pressure jets help to relax the muscles," explains Yuliana, the expert in this technique at the Mexican resort.

To top it off, a draining massage helps flush toxins from the body that cannot come better at this time of year.
