After a long career as a favorite makeup artist of the backstage and of the famous, and about to open her first store in the United States, Charlotte Tilbury is our Superwoman of the month, not only for her impressive career of more than 20 years, but also for showing her Solidarity side with a donation of my mother's magic ritual, but I realized the effect it had on other women. If you look good you feel good and the world reacts in a powerful way.
How did the idea to create this line come about?
After the success of the first Hot Lips collection, which also contributed to the work of the Women for Women foundation, I wanted to continue empowering women and men around the world, spreading a message of self-confidence and decided to create Hot Lips 2 in collaboration with 11 iconic men and women.
What do you think makes your brand special?
Makeup and beauty are my first love, and that is what makes my brand special. I created it to help anyone become the most beautiful version of themselves and there is a little bit of me in every product.
How did you decide to make this donation to Women for Women?
Since I met Brita [Fernandez Schmidt, from Women for Women] and listened to the stories of women in the foundation's international program, I was shocked, devastated and determined to do something that led to real change. So far, and through our work together, I have seen incredible and heart-warming changes. So far we have raised enough funds for 350 women to complete the Women for Women [education] program. I hope that with this magical donation we will reach even more women and change the lives of many around the world. I really believe that a lipstick can change lives because it can change how a woman feels, you can change a community, and you can change the world!
