In fact, the Colombian singer always monopolizes glances when he passes by a red carpet and occupies the first places in the list of the best dressed. Of course, although we are sure that the artist has very good taste, his perfect looks are thanks in part to his stylist Julián Ríos. We spoke with him to tell us a little more about the process of dressing one of the most famous singers and, incidentally, to tell us about his United Rivers clothing line.

Julián, tell us a little about how your taste for fashion was born

I remember a lot when I was little that my older brother (Camilo Ríos) who has always been very artistic changed his style frequently. One year he was punk and the next rapper, the next something different. I looking to follow in his footsteps I began to know different styles and ways of dressing. And so from an early age the taste for fashion began to be something with which I identified.

What is the concept of your United Rivers clothing line?

The concept is born from the style of the American West, something very "cowboy" but with modernity. Very limited handmade denim with Japanese materials and old fabrics. All made in Los Angeles.

Who is it for?

For the avant-garde and sophisticated man who likes fashion and at the same time wear something classic.

Why did you choose denim as your main and most important material?

Denim is a fabric with which you can play a lot and get many varieties of colors. Denim also lends itself to design any type of garment. Besides, what cowboy doesn't wear denim?

What has been the experience of working with celebrities and seeing that they wear your pieces?

It is very rewarding to see a photo or a recognized artist buying a piece of your brand. You work and visualize that your ideas can reach recognized people and thus see even more your dreams materialized.

Tell us how you started working with Maluma as her head stylist

We met during the time I worked at The Webster store (in Miami) where I had the opportunity to work with him on different occasions. After two years he called me and asked me if I knew a stylist who was interested in working with him and his team in a more personalized way. I literally raised my hand, showed my interest and here we are.

What has the experience of working with one of the most important artists of the moment been like?

The experience has been incredible. Being in moments that will remain in the artist's history is very enriching. It also carries a lot of responsibility and at the same time a lot of learning. [An experience] demanding but unique.

What are Maluma's preferences when it comes to dressing?

A good suit and good boots.

Does Maluma think about what he wants to wear or lets himself be carried away by you?

We work together since he likes fashion and gets involved with his image, but he is always ready for advice respecting my opinion.
