At the end of last year, Pantone named violet as the color of the year 2018. However, it never had the success of the famous Millennial Pink since it was announced in 2016. To this day, brands are still wondering if there will be another tone that causes the same impact that this popular pastel pink had that has invaded the feeds of our social networks. Shades like Gen Z Yellow, Melodramatic Purple and Safety Orange are some of the color bets that will lead the trends in the coming years, according to the New York Times. On the other hand, the trend forecasting company WGSN, has been ahead of Pantone and has declared the Neo Mint or mint as the color that will conquer fashion and interior design in 2020.

According to the company, this "new mint" has a futuristic technological air, but at the same time connects with plants and nature. Its tone reflects freshness and is not limited to a specific genre, but rather seeks neutrality between the two, as expected with trends in 2020.

"We have clients that range from sportswear brands to car companies to other brands that lead the global market," said Jane Monnington Boddy, director of color for WGSN, in a press release. "What is clear is the importance of the Neo Mint, a tone that aligns futuristic development with the environment."

Since the announcement was made, we've seen celebrities like artist Tank and his wife Zena Forster show it off on the red carpets, Ant-Man and The Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly on the streets of New York, as well as other celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski and Pippa Middleton.
