Tips For Lasting Makeup

The hot months are approaching and with that also comes a great concern for makeup lovers. And it is that with high temperatures it is very difficult for makeup to stay in place all day. Luckily there are products that help us stay fabulous even when the temperature is not on our side, however those products don't always work. So when we listen to any tip to make our beauty look last us, we immediately take note and much more if it comes from the official makeup artist of Beyoncé. Sir John is in charge of leaving the singer looking regal for both her time on the carpet and for her concerts. So if anyone knows how to make makeup look perfect for many hours, it's her.

The expert spoke to Allure magazine, in whose interview he shared some of his infallible tricks, including how he makes makeup stay in place all day, regardless of temperature or activity.

"If you go to a wedding in Arizona, Miami or South America, don't use moisturizer that day," he explained. "Sure don't forget to use SPF. Make sure your primer has an SPF of 30 or higher or use an oil-free sunscreen."

In addition to not using moisturizer, Sir John also recommends using both a liquid foundation as well as a powder foundation. In fact, the makeup artist uses both a cream and a powder version in almost all the products that he applies.

"Duality is key so you have to make sure you use a liquid and a powder foundation that you must apply with a brush," said the expert, who has been working with the artist since 2010. "If I use a cream blush, I use a powder blush on top. I use two layers of highlighter, one cream and the other powder. Even on the eyebrows. When you have that duality, it's like a Teflon face, so [the makeup] doesn't move anywhere.”
