As we all know, Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, leaving millions of people without water, without light and without food. Many of those people also lost their homes and with it hope. However, a little over two months after this natural phenomenon passed through the country, things began to normalize and little by little people decided to move forward thanks to all the help they had received and of course also thanks to the events such as San Juan Moda, which this year makes more sense and with which this year it is trying to expose Puerto Rican talent more than ever, at the same time that it seeks to continue helping the victims.
It was precisely this Monday, December 17, when the 9th edition of this fashion week began where 19 Puerto Rican designers, including Diana Vázquez, Harry Robles, Jean Cintrón, and two Dominicans, José Jhan and Giannina Azar, will be presenting their 2018 collections. The event will take place until Saturday in different locations in the Puerto Rican capital.
Luckily, the organization is taking advantage of the occasion to also extend a helping hand to Puerto Ricans who need it so much. San Juan Moda joined the actress Karla Monroig to bring a little encouragement and happiness to many families in the Guayama sector, where Monroig hails from and where many people lost everything with the passage of the hurricane. The actress took advantage of the union to carry out the initiative "bring a toy to San Juan fashion and let's save our children's Christmas", to collect toys for the children of the area and give them a little happiness at this time.
