The Victoria's Secret show is one of the most prestigious and hundreds of young models one day yearn to be chosen to parade on such an important catwalk. Every year, beautiful girls with long legs, slim figures and almost perfect measurements are the stars of the show. That is why there are many complaints that arise every time the event occurs because the brand does not include models of different sizes either in the show or in its advertising campaigns. The most popular faces in both the show and in the lingerie line catalogs are models like Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and other girls with slim figures.
That is why a group of models of all sizes and different ethnic backgrounds decided to go to downtown Manhattan to show themselves in underwear and show that any of them looks just as spectacular in underwear as the slimmer models. They even proudly showed their stretch marks as well as cellulite.
The Real Cat Walk parade was held in the middle of Times Square in the midst of the low temperatures of the city, all with the purpose of raising awareness about the great diversity of female beauty and to do everything possible for both Victoria's Secret and others brands become more inclusive.
"Yes it was cold, it was scary, but our warm energy made us move forward and show ourselves in an unforgettable showcase," wrote Khrystiana, model, activist and organizer of this initiative. “We want all women to feel empowered, beautiful. No media outlet should dictate what your shortcomings are and how you should change."
Despite the fact that last New York Fashion Week we saw more diversity and even models of all sizes in some shows, the absence of more real and curvy women is visible.
