In recent years, the fashion industry has acquired a new trend: making clothes from recycled material. It turns out that more and more awareness is being raised about the millions of pounds of garbage we produce each year, and many brands want to change that. For example, the H&M store has a line made entirely of recycled clothing with the help of its customers, who receive a 15% discount for each package of clothing they carry. Even by 2030 they plan to wear only used clothing to create all their pieces. Now American Eagle has joined this new way of making clothing.
The company teamed up with the Atelier & Repairs brand to create a collection of clothing made from recycled material that will be available in select American Eagle stores beginning Thursday, October 12.
"The clothing industry is the second largest reason for pollution in the world and is responsible for ten percent of the carbon in the air and this made me think about what I could do to help," Maurizio Donadi, co-founder, said in an interview. from Atelier & Repairs.
American Eagle joined this desire to make a difference in the environment, so he decided to create this collection that includes denim miniskirts, sweatshirts, t-shirts and jeans. Each piece is unique and has embroidery, as well as floral and other patterns.
Piece prices range from $ 48 to $ 122. What a fantastic initiative.
