As if it were a dollhouse, Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet decorated her presentation at New York Fashion Week, as she imagines it would be the rooms of the legendary Chelsea Hotel frequented by artists and legends like Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol, Janis Joplin, Eddie Sedgwick, Sid Vicious, and Leonard Cohen, to name a few of the most notable.

In the collection, flared pants with embroidery, floral prints, message shirts and ruffled skirts prevailed, and a bohemian and arty air permeated every corner of the seven rooms where the space was divided, each one decorated by a different artist. Francesca DiMattio, Scoutt and Tallulah Willis (daughters of Demi and Bruce), Angelica Hicks, Lucy Sparrow, Lola Schnabel, Susie Lopez and Blair Z were chosen to give each room its personal touch.

"My spring 2018 collection represents artistic optimism!" Writes the designer on her Instagram account. "I have reimagined the Chelsea Hotel and collaborated with women artists who are amazing and I imagine living in that hotel today."

As for the beauty look, Bendet trusted a true dream team made up of the most requested beauty experts of the moment: Justine Marjan in charge of styling with products from TRESemmé, official sponsor of New York Fashion Week; Erin Parsons, global makeup artist from Maybelline New York, and Rita Remark for essie taking care of the manicure.

The hair had a rocker and carefree air that the stylist achieved by making waves with a very narrow iron (a one and a quarter inch GHD) and separating the hair into small locks, after applying the Repair & Protect Pre-Styling spray and TRES Two Hair Spray mist by TRESemmé. To top it off with that messy finish Marjan applied a dry volumizing shampoo from the same brand that massaged into the hair root.

The makeup was very natural, with just a pink blush on the lips that Erin Parson dabbed with fingers on the lips of the models, a touch of color on the cheeks and black mascara on the upper and lower lashes, but in a subtle.

Rita Remark interpreted the trend that the designer set with a French manicure in nude version and finishing off the ends of the nails with a beautiful turquoise tone, Garden Variety, by Essie.
