While delicate, no-makeup looks were ruling the runways of New York Fashion Week, Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet stayed true to its signature style with colorful and captivating makeup.
The brand teamed up with Stila Cosmetics and lead makeup artist Sarah Lucero, who gave us the scoop on the look inspired by tarot card readers and the designer's most recent trip to Rome. With lilacs and liner, Lucero wanted the makeup to “feel optimistic and fresh, yet vintage at the same.”
In order to easily achieve the look, Lucero used lilac liner and went for pastel eyeshadows. "A lavender shade will brighten eyes," she shared.
If you want a more dramatic look, create a darker shadow with black or gray-based purples. If you're concerned with looking like you have a bruised eye, Lucero suggests adding shimmer in a pale mauve or glitter on top of the dark shadows.
Lots of mascara is essential on top and bottom. And don't forget the liner! “The best way to make your eyes stand out is to add liner close to the lash line. You can create a sultry shape and enhance your eyes in seconds,”said the makeup artist.
Complete the look by blending into the smokey liner under the lower lashes and you're all set!
