Many girls dream of becoming models and following in the footsteps of young people like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who have become the most sought-after on the market. But achieving it is not so easy. Aside from being lucky that an agency is interested in your work, you must also have a physique that is in accordance with the "norms" that have reigned in some way throughout history. However, that has not stopped Melanie Gaydos, who despite her condition has decided to conquer the competitive world of modeling.

The 28-year-old was born with a rare condition called ectodermal dysplasia, which prevents the baby's body from fully developing while in the womb. Gaydos has no hair, almost all teeth and nails are missing.

"Taking out any of the comments that have been made to me at school or in some activity, this has never bothered me," the model told People magazine. "It took me a few years to understand why other people treated me differently or reacted the way they did."

Those limitations did not prevent Gaydos in 2011 from setting out to conquer his dreams in New York City.

"I knew that with my confidence and my artistic vision, I was going to go far and I was going to succeed in my career," confessed the brave young woman.

Since then, Gaydos has worked with dozens of photographers and participated in fashion shows. Now all she hopes is for people to change their opinion about women like her.

“There have been many people who have told me that I am not going to be able to do a catwalk or a commercial and that I will always be classified in one category. But I don't think the human mind works that way because mine doesn't work that way, "he confessed to that publication. “Although society is limited, the human mind has much more potential than you even imagine. Women can be and do what they want regardless of their situation, and that's a beautiful possibility."
