Recreate Jennifer Lopez's Smokey Makeup

Jennifer López always wears impeccable makeup that we would all love to be able to recreate. Thanks to the myriad of new makeup products and of course the tutorials, it is now easier to look just as fabulous as she or any other celebrity. During her vacation in Paris, the singer uploaded a photo to Instagram in which she was, in her own words, in the “most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen”, where she can see spectacular skin and eyes with smokey makeup worthy of to admire. We invited the Argentine makeup artist Vanina Villar to recreate the same look of the always fabulous Bronx diva in our writer Pía Velasco.

As a first step, the expert used a cream base and defined her facial features with the same base but in two darker shades. “[You have to] always take into account the type of skin you are going to make up. Sometimes there are skins with enlarged pores and the base penetrates, and it is not favorable”, explains the expert, on how to choose the ideal base. "The ideal is to use one that blends in such a way that it is perfect."

To create the perfect smokey eyes that are super similar to Jlo's, Villar used a black eyeliner all over the mobile eyelid and on the bottom line. After applying a dark powder shadow and blending, he proceeded to apply a touch of blue shadow from the tear to the middle of the eyelid to give light to that area. The result was incredible.

"[It is] important to keep in mind that the black pencil is not waterproof because I need to blur it," he says. "If I use a pencil that is waterproof, all I'm going to do is make the makeup smear."
