The Jose Cuervo tequila is for an anniversary and the famous Mexican drink turns 222 years old. To celebrate it in style, the brand wanted to capture its colorful, bold and creative spirit in a series of limited-edition bottles and in a clothing capsule collection.

To make the pieces for the Cuervo x Cavolo x Campos collection, the tequila brand teamed up with Honduran designer Carlos Campos, who this year showed off his creations at New York Men's Fashion Week. “Latinos are in fashion creatively and we are celebrated. This collaboration could not have come at a better time, it is a true inspiration,”said the designer.

The illustrations that adorn the sweater, t-shirt and denim bag belonging to the collection are the work of the illustrator of Mexican origin Ricardo Cavolo, who captured four key moments in the history of José Cuervo with four motifs that mix a classic American style with a very colorful latin twist. “A collaboration of this type, with a brand so powerful and recognized throughout the world, and with the Mexican roots that characterize it, is an honor for an artist who deeply loves Mexican culture,” shared Cavolo.

These are the illustrations that decorate the bottles and the story behind them:

The Lady. José Cuervo broke social conventions when he named a woman, Ana González-Rubio, head of the company. But the company would not be where it is today if it had not been for the leadership of this woman.

Music. José Cuervo has always supported musical creativity. From Rolling Stone Tequila Sunrise to many other topics. Tequila has been a source of inspiration for numerous songs.

The devil. When three barrels of Jose Cuervo tequila crossed the border into the United States in 1873, those who dared to drink it called it Agua del diablo and saw tequila as a mysterious and dangerous liquor.

Heart. In 1795, the king of Spain gave him the first royal concession in history to produce tequila commercially, making José Cuervo the heart of the industry.

You can buy the limited edition bottles on the José Cuervo website, but the capsule collection can only be obtained through an online raffle.
