The shows by the Lebanese designer Elie Saab always stand out in Paris Haute Couture week for the amount of craftsmanship that stars in their dresses. Hundreds of hours spent sewing sequins by hand and embroidering tulles and silks with beads and crystal. For the spring-summer season of 2017, Saab paid tribute to the Arab woman of the golden age of her culture, in which they wore exquisite clothing with intricate prints on elegant and vaporous fabrics. A collection entitled The birth of light, a reflection of the wealth of another era.
On the catwalk, in which exotic oriental rhythms sounded, we saw many mid-calf dresses with architectural cuts that show a sophisticated and self-confident woman.
As usual in the designs of the firm, there was no lack of princess silhouettes with transparencies that despite the amount of embroidery and beading, looked simple and light.

Blue was one of the main colors, which in different tones was reminiscent of the Nile River, and the ships that have traveled it for centuries.

The grand finale of the show was a show of feminine strength, elegance, and freedom. A reinterpretation of the classic styles of a time when Arab women displayed their femininity and sophistication in dresses that did not go unnoticed thanks to the richness of their fabrics and the meticulousness of their decoration.
