Designer Zuhair Murad, a favorite of big stars like Jennifer López or Sofía Vergara, showed his collection for spring 2017 at the Paris Haute Couture week. If the Chanel or Elie Saab shows had already taken us to dream settings, the Murad's work has shown that dreams can materialize in the form of a dress. Inspired by a fireworks display in Japan, the Lebanese designer has staged stunning outfits as covered by an explosion of multi-colored crystals.
The first dress to parade on the catwalk was a short model with black and metallic appliques, with a miniskirt and a striking tulle top with a large ruffle that was reminiscent of the fashion of the 80s, an influence that we could see in various dresses of the show.
In the color palette, tones present in nature but exaggerated, such as fuchsia, emerald green or deep purple.
The show featured dramatic silhouettes of voluminous skirts, tulle, and rich beading-covered fabrics, large openings, peplums that looked like sculpted from the fabric, oversized bows and train that any wedding dress would envy.
Precisely the bridal gown that Murad presented and that he has defined "as a painting" seems to have come out of the Renaissance. With a bodice with simple lines and a deep neckline, the skirt, made in several layers that plays with asymmetry and volume; the dress is completely covered in fine champagne rhinestones and covered with the most delicate veil.
Rhinestones, tulle, glitters, lace … Zuhair Murad's dresses meet all the conditions for more than one star to opt for their creations to wear at the next Oscar Awards, just as it happened at the Golden Globes. What celebrity would you like to see with one of her designs?
