Our fashion and beauty editors, Úrsula Carranza and Pilar Sopeséns, tell us about two of the most fashionable Latin designers at the moment: Colombian Johanna Ortiz and Alexandra Vidal of Cuban descent.
With an avant-garde and elegant style, these fashion innovators are causing an international sensation. Celebrities like Naomi Watts and Eugenia Silva have worn Vidal dresses on the red carpet, and Ortiz's pieces have been worn by celebrities like Olivia Palermo.
Alexandra Vidal creates dresses that look like works of art using haute couture techniques without leaving behind the Latin touches, such as intense colors and tight silhouettes. "My passion is that each piece I design is forever," he told us in our February issue. "It's like tomorrow's vintage."
On the other hand, Johanna Ortiz told us in the September edition that being born in Colombia and understanding the Latin woman is part of her creative process. "We are an effortless blend of femininity, elegance and sensuality," says the designer.
