Eva Longoria Launches Collection With The Limited

Among the many talents of Mexican American actress Eva Longoria is also fashion design. Ever since she played Gabrielle Solis at Desperate Housewives, she had thought about creating her own clothing line, but back then she had no time and was content to machine-sew costumes for her nephews and dream about the project.

Until now. The producer also launches a collection in collaboration with the firm The Limited, already available on its website. A functional but trend line and in which the actress has been involved in the whole process, from the design of the garments, to the choice of fabrics and the marketing campaign.

In the collection, starring flattering dresses perfect to go impeccable to work and go out later, its Latin origin is evident. "Many Latinas like color, I am one of those women," says Longoria. "I definitely feel more in touch with my roots now."

Fuchsia, yellow, red … the colors and the quality of the fabrics are an important part of the process for the actress, who now has her residence in Mexico DF "Being married to a Mexican has made me fall in love with Mexico again."

Thinking of all women when designing and inspired by her travels around the world and the clothes she has worn through her characters, Longoria attaches great importance to the power that clothing has over self-esteem. "I think if a woman is comfortable with what she is wearing, she is going to feel powerful," she notes. “Now Latina women are the ones that start the most businesses, they are the most enterprising. This collection is for them”.

Among her favorite items in the collection are t-shirts with a message. “They are so flattering and playful. With a message, now that they are so fashionable. And they are so soft! I love T-shirts that are a statement of intent, literally.”

Another of her favorites is this stylish blazer-cape. "I love it because it gives the collection a high-fashion feeling," adds Longoria, who is shooting a series for the BBC and a film with Demián Bichir.
