Eva Longoria prepares to launch her first clothing line for The Limited.
The collection, which has yet to be named, is due out next fall and will include workwear, dresses and casual wear. Later, she will also add shoes, wallets, and accessories.
"I had wanted to have my own collection for a long time and it is a great privilege to join Sunrise Brands who are bringing their experience in the fashion world to me," the actress said in a press release. "I am excited to design a collection that will offer women a lot of versatility while evoking safety, comfort and a sense of elegance."
Eva Longoria is no stranger to the world of sewing, since she has been an expert in this art for a long time and from a young age has made everything from costumes to cushions and dresses for her friends.
"I have an industrial machine in my house," Longoria told the WWD newspaper. "That is one of the things that people don't know about me, I sew."
The actress, who has two perfumes and a collection of bedding for JC Penney, assures that she will take care of every detail of the garments.
"Now is the time to move into the world of fashion," she said. “Now I can finally dedicate myself to it. Before, I was very busy.”
The also producer and businesswoman who will soon return to television in the NBC series Hot & Bothered, assures that her new line will be for the woman who likes to look good without ruining her bank account.
"I always say that you don't need to spend a lot of money to look good," he explained. “[It's for] the woman who works, who wants her outfit to transition from work to night. [For which] she doesn't want to spend a lot of money on her clothes, but she still wants to look her best.”
The pieces will be available on August 15 at 250 stores in the United States and online at Thelimited.com.
