We are just in mid-2016 and for designer Cenia Paredes this has already been a year of great achievements, including having the opportunity to sell her designs no more and no less than at HSN under the Cenia New York brand.
Paredes, whose designs come in cuts exclusively created for the most predominant body types in America, will also be in charge of making the costumes that will take to the Tony Awards the singer Gloria Estefan, Luz Towns-Miranda and Vanessa Nadal, mother and wife, respectively, of the actor and composer Lin Manuel Miranda.
“The idea was born when I was nine years old. My mom was the dressmaker in my town and I heard clients tell them they wanted their dresses to fit just like other women,”Paredes tells us, one of the few Latinas who have had the opportunity to sell their pieces on HSN. “When I graduated from FIT I saw that there was a gap in the market for a real notch. There are many Latinas who [have] to send to fix their dresses. I want to fill that gap in the market and bring a solution to women."
The dresses, whose prices range from ra on the company's website this June 10, but it will be until the 24 of this month when the talented designer will go live on the HSN channel to present and sell three of her styles.
"It is a great honor, especially as a formally trained Latina and fashion designer, to partner with HSN and bring my fashion concepts to your audience," the creator said in a statement. "My love of fashion and design is inspired by my own experiences of not finding options suitable for my pear-shaped body type."
