Mexican designer Daniela Villegas has launched a capsule collection under the Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo.

"The limited edition will be sold exclusively in Mexico, the United States and Japan," confirmed the director of Ferragamo in Mexico and Latin America, Corinne Ortega. "And the silver pieces will be sold globally."

This collection will have a total of 10 pieces of gold and diamonds, and will have more than 1,000 pieces that include necklaces, bracelets, earrings and silver rings that will be sold in stores until the spring of 2017.

Inspired by nature and her travels, Villegas, whose husband is the brother of actress Salma Hayek, frequently combines organic elements such as 18k gold beetles in each color with precious and semi-precious jewelry. In the same way, his collection with Ferragamo evokes nature and wild birds, using topaz and purple amethysts.

The collaboration resulted from Ferragamo's desire to promote new talent, and from the last collection he made with Villegas, where he worked alongside Massimiliano Giornetti, the former creative director of Ferragamo.

Villegas says the collection has strong elements of Mexican folklore. "Silver is very Mexican, and we love to express ourselves and be happy," said the designer, whose fans include celebrities such as Ana de la Reguera, Julianne Hough, Katy Perry, Demi Moore and her sister-in-law Salma Hayek, among others. "I also want to integrate the classic elements of Ferragamo by using the Gancini symbol and creating a collection that the global customer likes."
