A whole outpouring of elegance and sophistication was experienced in the Ángel Sánchez fashion show during New York Fashion Week.
Sumptuous dresses with vaporous skirts and exquisite lace details reigned in the show of the Venezuelan designer, who was inspired by the fetishism he always has when dressing a woman.
“There is a lot of emphasis on the woman's neck. It is the way I explore that part or I show it with the accessories, with the costumes”, Sánchez explains. “Also the skin issue, but seen through the lace. For me, lace is one of the most sensual materials. I tried to play with seduction through the lace that generates a kind of tattoo on the skin.”
Although black predominated, the collection also featured striking pieces in wine red, purple and gold.
“Cinematographic memories also started to come out. There are film directors who seem to me to have handled fetish very well. All this theme of seduction, innocence, perversity are present in this collection. The sexy thing about this collection is precisely what you hide, not what you show. It is for a woman who wants to reserve her things and not discover them all. The mystery for me is the basis of seduction”, says the designer.
Sánchez also assures that the Latin woman is his main source of inspiration when designing. “The Latin woman has always been an object of inspiration for me. It has been my muse for many years. She is a woman who always inspires me because she is a chameleon, she always evolves. It is very dramatic and this collection is very dramatic."
