Madeline Stuart is an 18-year-old Australian model who has become the first mannequin with Down syndrome to gain global recognition.
One of the advertising campaigns for which he has posed has been that of EverMaya, a brand of handbags and accessories for the home born in Guatemala, which uses fabrics, patterns and techniques of the ancient Mayans to make their products by hand.

Now, the firm goes one step further and launches a line named after the model. "Following the incredible positive comments we received after our first campaign with Madeline Stuart, we wanted something truly unique to continue promoting inclusion within the fashion industry," Damian Graybelle, president of EverMaya, said in a statement.
This new limited edition line is made with a fabric called zunil cut, the same one used in the traditional skirts of Guatemalan women. Within the collection we find the The Madeline model, which Stuart expressly requested to be made in pink, and there are two other models in purple and blue.

The name for the design was chosen by the followers of the model on Facebook, and both "The Madeline" and the collection will be on sale from August 15 on the brand's website, which will allocate 5% of the sales to the National Down Syndrome Society.
