Christian Siriano united his love of fashion and animals to create a collection of handbags that not only look spectacular, but will also help a cause very close to his heart.

Now on sale at the designer's website and at Bloomingdales.com, the collection features eye-catching bags and clutches made of faux fur. Part of the income it generates will go towards fighting elephant poaching.

"[Actress Alicia Silverstone] approached me and told me about Year of the Elephant, which is [an organization] dedicated to protecting elephants from poaching," the designer told Marie Claire magazine. “Thousands of elephants are killed each year for their ivory alone. So for every bag that is sold, we will donate to organizations that work to end poaching.”

The pieces are also inspired by Siriano's spring collection, just like his mom.

"When it comes to wallets, no one thinks of different sizes, but I did think," he explained to Marie Claire. “Even if you see some wallets that are small, they always have a shoulder strap because for women size 12 or more they could be uncomfortable. My mom is voluptuous, and that part is inspired by her because I want her to be able to use all these wallets”.
