The Spanish designer Pedro del Hierro passed away this Friday at the age of 66 at the La Princesa hospital in Madrid, the Vanitatis portal reported.
The designer, who stood out for the modernity and exclusivity of his couture creations, was one of the country's great designers, having dressed great personalities and various royal houses. At the age of 26 he presented his first collection to the press and just two years later, Del Hierro became the youngest member to belong to the Chamber of Haute Couture.
In 2003, the designer retired from the catwalks after suffering cardiovascular problems. Eight years later, the designer received an emotional tribute where he announced that his retirement "would not be a goodbye, but a goodbye."
The company will be under the tutelage of Carmen March, who was named creative director of the firm in 2012.
