George Clooney Sues Magazine Over Photos Of Twins

George Clooney threatened to sue a French magazine for publishing photos of his twins.

"Last week, photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree, and illegally took photos of our children inside our home," the actor said in a statement.

The publication released images on Friday of Clooney and his wife Amal, arguing that they made the news for being the first photographs of Ella and Alexander. The couple were at their home in Lake Como, Italy, with their babies when the pictures were taken.

Make no mistake, the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be held accountable to the maximum extent permitted by law. The safety of our children requires it, added Clooney in the text, in which she condemns the magazine for publishing the pixelated photos on its cover.

In a statement released by the magazine, its managers alleged that there was "public demand" for the photos, so they were in the public interest.

"People love George Clooney and have been following his life story for years," argues the Voici statement. “The birth of their twins, Ella and Alexander, has also been much discussed, by themselves and their families. Those photos do not endanger Mr. Clooney, his wife, or his children."

Amal Clooney gave birth to the twins in London on June 6 and to date has not released any images of the little ones, who are the couple's first children.
