Lourdes Stephen thinks she knows the exact moment when she conceived her unborn child.

“I felt something one night in Miami. I got the impression that it was before we went on a trip. There was one night that I felt so full asleep and I thought: 'If I was superstitious I tell you I know exactly'. I felt it”, the co-presenter of Salt and Pepper (Univisión) tells Poeple in Spanish.

Before learning that they would be parents on their return to Miami, Stephen and her husband, Cuban-American lawyer Michael Puchades, enjoyed a romantic vacation in Europe in September.

"My husband was happy. He spent driving around these curves in Monte Carlo. I went shopping like crazy and we went to the best restaurants in Monaco, Cannes, Saint Tropez. It was wonderful, "she recalls.

Upon their return, everyone was happy with the news of her pregnancy. The only one who felt jealous for losing her throne in the house is her Maltese dog, Coco.

“I have Coco for 8 years. That is the youngest thing in the world. She is very tender with me. When I arrive she comes running all over that hallway and slides up to me because she knows that my hands are going to be there grabbing her,”says Stephen of his pet, who demands his attention. "I know she feels the boy because she sits on my belly."

Her mother-in-law, Nilda Puchades, is also excited about the arrival of her grandson in May. "She went crazy with that boy," she says of her paternal grandmother, who sent all the baby clothes she had kept from her son to be washed so that the baby could use them soon, whose name will be Michael Victor.

Stephen gave the news to his father that he would be a grandfather when he traveled to the Dominican Republic to celebrate the birthday party in early October. “I gave it to him personally. I went to see him. My brothers screamed. When I told him it was a man, that man went crazy,”he adds.

The future new mother regrets not being able to share this happiness with her grandmother Consuelo, who died last year, and with her mother Lourdes, who died 15 years ago of cancer.

“I can't imagine carrying a baby. I need my mom”, Stephen confesses. "I always imagined she was going to be there holding my hand." Her husband will be there to cheer her up.
