From the ring to the mechanical workshop. José Ron exchanges boxing gloves for nuts in his new soap opera I Give You Life, a fiction that lands on Monday April 13 in Hispanic prime time. Like its previous melodrama, Ringo, the story revolves around a father and his son, with the difference that this time neither is aware of the other's existence.

It will be the desperate struggle of a mother to save the life of her little one who has leukemia and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant that will unite them surprisingly.

“My character, Pedro, is a very hard-working, honest and responsible boy. He is a person of values who loves his family above all things. The news that he has a son, Nicolás, changes everything,”says Ron in an interview with People en Español.

The actor promises that the soap opera and, specifically, the story of little Nicolás will touch the most sensitive fibers of the public that feels every night in front of Univision screens to see it.

"I think this story is going to touch many hearts. The theme is raw, strong and touches the most sensitive fibers,”says Ron. “And apart from that the boy is incredible. He has done it with great sensitivity, with that joy that characterizes children. He has a very special angel."

The 38-year-old interpreter acknowledges that you learn a lot when working with a child and this has been no exception.

"You see a child act on stage and they really open up, play, let themselves go, they don't care what people say, they don't care about ridicule and that's what an actor has to do," he says.

“It has been very nice for me to meet him. There is a very nice chemistry and I think people will love it very much. I am sure it will touch all their hearts,”he adds.

The actor has as a partner in this story the Mexican actress Eva Cedeño, who debuts as the protagonist after having played several villains, the last one in Por amar sin ley.

“We had not worked together but I am very happy that it was Eva. I think this character was for her. It has been incredible and the chemistry has also been very beautiful,”she shares. "We got along amazing and we had a lot of fun, so we wish with all our hearts that people also receive us with great joy."

Ron has already worked with the Mexican actor Jorge Salinas.

“It has been 10 years since we worked together in The One That Couldn't Love and it is beautiful because now we meet again and on my part I feel that everything I have gone through and everything I have worked on has also helped me to have more experience. I get different from what I did in The One Who Couldn't Love, so what I have done with him has also been very cool,”he says.

I Give You Life opens on April 13 at 8 pm ET on Univision.
