La Felina, a character played by Maricela González during the fourth and fifth seasons of El señor de los cielos, made her long-awaited reappearance this Tuesday in the second season of La doña, a fiction in which she promises to continue doing her own thing, now alongside Altagracia Sandoval (Aracely Arámbula). "[I'm] excited and of course very nervous, as always when a character airs. That is inevitable, "says the Colombian actress. In an exclusive interview with People en Español Maricela tells us how she received the proposal to retake the character and tells us how La Felina will perform in La doña.

When I was asked to give continuity to La Felina [in the second season of La doña] I just loved the idea. The public is already getting used to the fact that their characters do not finish dying at all

How did you get the proposal to retake the character?

Telemundo has begun to implement the exercise of interrelating its characters in different universes and I find it fascinating, so when I was asked to give continuity to La Felina I simply loved the idea.

What was the first thing that crossed your mind when it was proposed to you?

The truth was that I thought about the public, about the reaction I would have and it was precisely as I imagined. They are convinced that he would return to The Lord of the Skies and very happy with the idea. The public is already getting used to the fact that their characters don't finish dying at all (laughs).

How is the story we saw about La Felina in El señor de los cielos going to connect with the one we will see now in La doña?

Altagracia Sandoval makes contact with the Casillas to try to recover a money that they have so that she can get her daughter back. They inform her that her money is in the hands of La Felina and that she is the one who washes them, so in this way they get in touch.

Whenever you get to a new cast it's a bit stressful but I was very well received and especially by Aracely. She is lovely

With what will La Felina surprise us now?

This is a character who is always walking on the edge of the abyss, he never manages to have peace nor will it be given to him. The only splinter that makes her soul bleed is having lost her son, but in all this time, after practically interviewing death, she discovers that this son lives and her only motive for life will be to find him.

How was the experience of working with Aracely Arámbula?

That team was formidable. Whenever a new cast is reached, it is a bit stressful, but I was received very well and especially by her. She's lovely.

Since you recorded the last scene of La felina in El señor de los cielos until you recorded the first scene in La doña, several years passed, how was it for you to go back into the shoes of this character who has undoubtedly marked your career?

Yes, indeed, two years have passed since that moment, but the characters are rooted in one, in memory and in feeling. They inhabit a part of you to stay and at the moment that it is necessary they emerge with the same force and determination that they had in their origin.

I have continued to see The Lord of the Skies, of course, because it has become practically a great feat for all that team, it is to keep going facing not one or two but many setbacks, unforeseen adversities …

To what do you attribute that the character connected so much at the time with the public?

It is because they are very authentic characters, very credible, unfortunately deeply rooted in the reality that exists in our towns. Trying to take a little distance from that drama I built it with a certain degree of humor and lightness.

What do you miss most about your participation in The Lord of the Skies?

Every character has its charm and just as they inhabit you one learns to love and miss them. It is always appreciated working with a team with that mystic, directors, producers and above all a story full of text and of great quality. That definitely makes a difference at the end of the day.

Did you continue to watch the superset after your departure?

Yes, I have continued to see it of course because it has become practically a great feat for all that team I was talking about, it is to keep going facing not one or two but many setbacks, the unforeseen adversities that we all know, a changing market and in addition in constant movement with new habits of hearing, all that gathered without a doubt is a titanic task.

Finally, what plans do you have for this 2020?

For now I am enjoying La Felina again in this super story. The year is just beginning so we'll see what it brings us.
