Altagracia Sandoval (Aracely Arámbula) returned to do her thing on January 13 on the screens of Telemundo with the premiere of the second season of La doña.

The soap opera landed in Hispanic prime time with a renewed cast, new plots and an important absence: that of its protagonist David Chocarro, whose character, Saúl Aguirre, was brutally murdered during the first chapter.

The departure of the Argentine actor from fiction has given much to talk about on social networks, especially since the leading man has not yet spoken about what happened.

But what really led Chocarro not to participate in the new season of La doña?

"It was a matter of history," admits Arámbula in an exclusive interview with People en Español. "It was going to be difficult for him to come back and come back with Altagracia because, although the public asked for it a lot and they liked [the couple] a lot, in some way it was to fight with the daughter again," he explains.

The 44-year-old interpreter acknowledges that for her "it was a surprise" the death of Saúl Aguirre, but "it is also beautiful because everything that happens is very justified," he stresses.

"In addition there are characters who could no longer be with us because they have another series, so well [the series] is refreshing itself with new stories," he adds.

Precisely the death of Saúl Aguirre (Chocarro) propitiates the 'love reunion' between Altagracia and her daughter, something that undoubtedly makes the Mexican star very happy.

“Now we had more beautiful scenes, so it's even cuter because before we had to fight on set and now we hug,” he shares.

“I already really wanted to see Danita and congratulate and hug her. I am very proud of her successes and when I see her triumphing in Spain and singing I feel like a peacock, as if I were truly her mother. I am very happy for her.”

Chocarro is not there for reasons of history and professional commitments, but there are two other guys that Aracely cannot complain about: Carlos Ponce and David Zepeda.

"At all [I can]. They are gallants that people love very much and are great friends for me. I believe that people are going to enjoy that is the main thing”, he assures.

But who will be Altagracia's favorite this season?

"That they are going to discover night by night, but the truth is that both are very important characters in Altagracia's life, one for one reason and the other for another," he replies.

The doña airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. EST on Telemundo.
