Before fame and fortune smiled on Jonathan Resto Quiñones, better known as Jon Z, the young Puerto Rican singer had to chop stone, like everyone else. And like many other celebrities, the urban music artist had to do normal jobs, such as working in a pizzeria in his native Puerto Rico.
This was confessed by the 28-year-old artist on a recent visit to People VIP, the television program of People en Español.
In the studios of the show in New York and accompanied by his colleague and countryman Wilmer Alicia, better known as Baby Rasta, the artists talked about their new album, Vodoo, and recalled old times when reggaeton was almost banned in their land. This is how the topic came up that until 2016 Jon Z worked in a pizzeria delivering pizza.
"When you are old and you think about the past life you say wow!" Said the ragpicker. “As an example, I worked in a pizzeria. When I get to that pizzeria I say 'I want to make a delivery'”. The name of the establishment is Grand Cheese Pizza and according to the artist he worked there for “a long time”. That time, he says, is something he still values.
