YouTube has been the path to success for many young starlets and that was the case for beauty vlogger Mariale Morreo. But in her case, the 26-year-old didn't start a filming YouTube videos to showcase her singing skills or because she loved makeup, but rather to get over her fear of public speaking.

Morreo chose to concentrate her videos on beauty after having difficulty finding videos that actually featured products that she could find in her native country Venezuela.

"I remember I filmed at like 3 in the morning and everything was so improvised," she says. “The response I got was really interesting cause I didn't expect that many people to find my video,” the beauty guru tells PEOPLE.

With her audience growing, she started to post more videos about beauty, style and even her personal life. Although she shared a great deal on camera, her viewers didn't see that she was dealing with her dad having cancer and the financial toll it had on her family.

“I've passed a little before I moved here and people didn't even know because I was so keen on it being a positive space. I feel like people watch me because they want to get away from the problems, not because they want to hear about mine,”she shares.

Marreo moved with her husband to the United States where he pursued his master's degree in tech while she practiced her English to produce content in both languages.

"I feel like I have such a big responsibility because I'm kind of paving the way for anybody that wants to jump from one language to the other," Marrero says. “There are so many people like me who are bilingual and identify themselves as Latin, but they also live here so they're a part of both cultures.”

With close to 4 million subscribers on YouTube, over 1 million on Instagram and partnerships with brands like L'Oreal, what was once a fear for the influencer has given her major success.
