The Brazilian basketball player, former NBA star, Fabricio Melo, died at the age of 26 while sleeping at his home in Juiz Mora, in the state of Minas Gervais, Brazil, according to El País.
Apparently, the former Boston Celtics player could have suffered a heart attack last Saturday night, although this fact is unconfirmed.
Melo, who lived with his two sisters and his mother, was found unconscious by his mother, who quickly called the emergency services, who could do nothing to save her life.
Today, Melo was developing his professional career with Brasilia, after having gone through the NBA as part of the Celtics, Grizzlies and Mavericks.
The high-rise center began to excel in the world of basketball during his participation in the American University League in 2012, where he became the best defender in the Eastern Conference, with the University of Syracuse.
